The University of Houston at Sugar Land celebrated the ribbon cutting of its 75,000 SF Engineering Building-Sugar Land Academic Building 2 (SAB2), for which Vaughn served as construction manager-at-risk. The facility supports the merger of UH’s engineering and technology colleges and features classrooms, labs, innovation space, and offices. The newly combined Cullen College of Engineering now ranks as the third largest in Texas and among the largest in the nation.
“The Sugar Land Academic Building 2 represents the growth our campus has experienced in the past year,” said Jay Neal, associate vice president, academic affairs and chief operations officer for UH’s Sugar Land campus. “This building allows us to accommodate hundreds more students who wish to pursue engineering studies in Fort Bend County.”
“The most meaningful part of this project was watching our team grow together,” said a Vaughn project manager. “We put in long hours, supported one another, and had fun along the way. Witnessing the ribbon-cutting was a proud moment for our team.”
