Is your firm a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise or Historically Underutilized Business?

As a commercial building contractor, our goal is to develop a long-term relationship with underutilized, minority, or disadvantaged businesses that share our commitment to quality and safety.

We build highly technical institutional buildings for healthcare, research, higher education, and civic clients who produce a steady supply of work. However, the nature of this work requires a sense of urgency, attention to detail, an emphasis on quality and safety, and in the case of occupied facilities, an ability to minimize disruptions to ongoing building operations.

Success Breeds Success

We firmly believe your success is an important part of our success. We work with you to identify construction projects on which you will be the most successful. Our approach includes:

  • Invitations to bid on only portions of work you are capable of performing, even if it is not a complete bid package
  • Well-organized, safe, and efficient projects that allow you to be profitable
  • Outreach events and training classes that help you increase your business capabilities
  • Participation in organizations that advocate for underutilized, minority, or disadvantaged suppliers.

“As a seasoned contractor, they tell you the do’s and don’ts. The stuff that you would learn over 30 years, they basically break it down to you, and tell you what to do and what not to do.”

Want a Jump Start?

Most of our projects require a qualification statement as part of the bidding/proposal process. We utilize an online platform, TradeTapp, to manage trade contractor qualifications. Once submitted and approved, your qualifications remain on file for 12 months. Respondents with an approved qualification statement on file are not required to submit one with their proposal, providing your firm with a jump start on bidding our projects.

We Support the C3 Initiative.

Vaughn Construction is one of the founding members of the Construction Career Collaborative (C3), an initiative aimed at ensuring a sustainable construction workforce through an alliance of Owners, contractors, and trade contractors. The non-profit organization focuses on promoting fair and equitable wages, safety training, and craft training for our construction workforce.

Project Sizes

Because of our self-perform experience, we know how to drive the schedule, control quality, and manage costs on our projects so everyone wins. Our projects range in size from $1 million to $600 million. See how your firm’s unique capabilities best match our project needs.

Our Commitment

We are proud of our track record with underutilized, minority, or disadvantaged businesses in Texas. We consistently achieve or exceed HUB participation goals set by various State of Texas institutions. We have been recognized for our commitment to this effort.
