Project Overview

The expanded shelter and adoption center includes a public lobby, administration offices, dog kennels, cat cages, and related site work. We also renovated approximately 16,000 SF of two existing buildings to resolve extensive HVAC, plumbing, and drainage system issues.

Unique Challenge

The animal shelter remained completely operational during construction, and we worked extensively with the county to identify temporary solutions to accommodate their animals. We constructed a temporary adoption facility in a nearby show barn. We poured a new concrete pad, set up draining systems, and installed new dog kennels to make it a useable adoption facility. By relocating the dogs during construction, we started the renovations in the existing building approximately five months ahead of schedule.
