The University of North Texas at Dallas held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the new 140,000 SF STEM Building, for which Vaughn served as construction manager-at-risk.
“We celebrate the opportunity for our students, for employers across North Texas, and for the communities we serve,” said UNT Dallas president Dr. Warren von Eschenbach. “This new STEM facility allows UNT Dallas to help meet urgent healthcare and workforce needs at a time when the demand for nurses and other practitioners continues to dramatically outpace supply.”
The building features 18 classrooms, 12 laboratories, including nine teaching labs and three research labs, a dedicated Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP) office, multiple collaboration spaces, faculty offices, and a large event venue.
“UNT Dallas anticipates that the STEM Building’s state-of-the-art research laboratories, innovative classrooms, and dynamic collaboration spaces will open the door to countless new opportunities for students, empowering them with the resources they need to pursue academic excellence and breakthrough discovery,” said a Vaughn assistant project manager. “We are proud to celebrate this milestone achievement, as Vaughn plays a key role in advancing UNT Dallas’ bold vision to continue emerging as a leader in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics professions.”
