The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its 141,000 SF Cancer and Surgery Center, for which Vaughn served as construction manager-at-risk. The new facility combines advanced cancer care, surgical services, rehabilitation, and infusion therapy, offering patients access to comprehensive treatment close to home.
“The Cancer and Surgery Center represents hope,” said Veronica Gonzales, senior vice president for governmental and community relations. “It is a promise to our patients who no longer have to leave home for advanced care. They can receive it here, in the Valley, close to family and support. We are deeply proud that the Valley is now home to the first facility of its kind, where advanced treatments, surgical care, and research come together under one roof, backed by our academic strength as a medical school.”
The Cancer and Surgery Center revolutionizes cancer care in the Rio Grande Valley by providing comprehensive services and fostering research to improve treatment outcomes for the community.
“Our team worked hard to deliver a facility that will serve the community where we live and work,” said a Vaughn project manager. “It feels good to know we built something that will make a lasting impact.”
