Vaughn Recognized at American Subcontractors Association Excellence in Construction Awards

American Subcontractors Association (ASA) recently recognized Vaughn at the Excellence in Construction Awards in the Project of the Year Over $50 Million category for the TMC3 Collaborative Building.

The TMC3 Collaborative Building, a 250,000 SF building, fosters collaboration between four academic institutions and industry partners. Office areas and a 43,000 SF joint research lab provide co-working spaces for brainstorming sessions and shared ideas.

“The Collaborative Building was truly a team effort,” said a Vaughn project manager. “We embraced the namesake of the building after coordinating with teams from all our campus projects. It was not always easy, but our team members learned, built invaluable skills, and ultimately became the true cornerstone of this collaborative effort. We are thankful to all the project teams who made the Collaborative Building a success.”

Vaughn also received recognition for the General Contractor of the Year.

“Our success is directly related to the trade contractors in our community, and to be selected by them as The Contractor of the Year is a great honor,” said a Vaughn vice president of operations. “Receiving the award is also a reflection of our teams’ hard work, not just operations. Multiple departments including preconstruction, estimating, and accounting interact with our trade contractor community daily, representing Vaughn and upholding our core values. Thanks to everyone for making Vaughn the ASA Contractor of the Year.”

ASA Houston recognizes Houston-area general contractors each year at the annual Excellence in Construction Awards presentation. ASA Houston members select the winners through an extensive nomination and voting process.

ASA awarded Vaughn based on our work in Houston, practicing professional project management, and completing projects safely.
