Texas Health and Human Services Celebrates New Sports Complex at El Paso State Supported Living Center

El Paso State Supported Living Center (El Paso SSLC) recently celebrated the grand opening of its new sports complex, for which Vaughn served as construction manager-at-risk. The center’s community of differently abled residents can shoot hoops, score goals, and hit home runs.

The 80,000 SF sports complex features a basketball court, doubling as a soccer pitch, and a baseball field adjacent to the court, allowing El Paso SSLC residents to build comradery.

El Paso SSLC, home to nearly 100 residents, provides campus-based direct services and support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Services include personalized behavioral treatment, primary and specialty health care, psychiatric services, dental care, skills training, day habilitation, employment services, and customized adaptive aids such as seating and positioning devices.

“We couldn’t be more excited for our new multisport complex opening at the El Paso State Supported Living Center,” said Laura Moore, director of El Paso SSLC. “This is a beautiful complex that will help engage, unite, and boost the morale of our residents and staff. We’re eager to get out there and enjoy some basketball, baseball, soccer, and many other activities because of it.”
