Baylor University's Hurd Welcome Center

In April 2021, Baylor University awarded Vaughn the 130,000 SF Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center. The building’s focal point will be its 70-foot-tall grand hall, with four 96-foot-tall light pillars that extend through the roof. Described as an “experience center,” it will feature high-tech interactive exhibits to immerse more than 60,000 annual visitors in Baylor University’s mission, history, values, and brand. The project will also feature a 3,000-seat auditorium cantilevered out of the back of the building's second floor, office space for university operations, a large indoor event space with an associated catering kitchen, and a ballroom. The project is anticipated to be completed by March 2023. The architect for this project is Populous.
