Vaughn Wins Two Associated General Contractor Texas Building Branch 2017 Outstanding Construction Awards

Two Vaughn projects won Associated General Contractor Texas Building Branch (AGC TBB) 2017 Outstanding Construction Awards. Judges evaluated these projects’ safety record, unusual construction techniques, final appearance, timeliness of completion, and difficulty in construction. The awards were presented at the 41st annual Texas Building Branch Convention in Pennsylvania.

The University of Texas Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center Renovations project won the award in the Interior Finish Out 4 (over $5M) category. The project impressed the panel of judges with the incredibly condensed schedule and high-quality finishes. Vaughn served as the construction manager-at-risk for the renovation of several areas within an athletic center, concentrating on a state-of-the-art football locker room, weight room, restroom and shower area, and corridors.

The Texas A&M University at Galveston Waterfront Events Pavilion project won the award in Building 2 ($2M - $5M) category. With the project’s especially tight schedule and challenging site logistics, the project team accomplished a great feat of bringing this project in on time. Vaughn served as the general contractor for the new construction of the Waterfront Events Pavilion. This single-story building, encased in glass on three sides, includes a multipurpose room, food preparation room, restroom, and support spaces. We also built an outdoor amphitheater, which can be used as a separate events venue.
