Project Overview

This addition to the Davis Player Development Center provides space for nutrition staff to hold activities for student athletes. Amenities include a commercial kitchen prep area, football-shaped smoothie bar, lounge with elaborate audio visual and graphic displays, staff support areas, and office space. We also added canopies to the weight room entrances and modified the weight room’s TV and audio systems. The facility hosts many different functions including recruiting tours, athlete fuel-up events, and 12th Man Foundation events.

Unique Challenge

We had 100 days to complete the addition before the first home football game of the season. We lost 15 days due to weather and conflicts between existing underground utilities and the new piers and grade-beams. To make up the time, our concrete and steel self-perform teams re-sequenced activities coming out of the ground and framing and decking the structure. Our MEP contractors completed above-ceiling work early, so the finish contractors had more time to complete their scope. These efforts ensured we met the Owner’s timeline.
