Vaughn Construction recently hosted a topping out ceremony for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies. Vaughn is serving as the construction manager-at-risk for the 109,576 SF, $70.2 million research facility. The building will house top scientists conducting clinical research in aging and neurodegenerative diseases. The project features open research laboratories, laboratory support areas, a vivarium and vivarium support spaces, administrative and faculty offices, and surface parking.
During the topping out celebration, UT Health San Antonio President William Henrich commended our team’s efforts, “One of the primary reasons Vaughn Construction is continually selected to perform our most complex science buildings is that they have brought all projects on time and in budget, and they’ve had superb safety records in constructing these projects.”
Towards the end of the event, the University of Texas System presented Vaughn with a Silver Safety Through Exemplary Performance award.
Construction is scheduled to complete by December 2019.
