by Vaughn Construction | Aug 08, 2018

Vaughn recently reached the topping out milestone for Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital’s South Tower Expansion and Renovation project. They are serving as the construction manager-at-risk for the $45 million project, which will include an expanded breast cancer center, additional C-section rooms, a new open bay NICU, a full-term nursery, additional labor and delivery rooms, and post-partum rooms. The project scope also includes renovating the first, second, and third floors in an occupied hospital. Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital projects 4,500 births a year at their hospital, and this construction will meet the surrounding community's growing needs.

Vaughn hosted the topping out event to honor the trade contractors’ hard work and to celebrate a project on track to finish on schedule and in budget. The project is expected to reach final substantial completion in July 2020. During the event, Chris Siebenaler, CEO of Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, commended Vaughn’s performance and interactions with the Level Three staff to efficiently work concurrently in the occupied space.
