Sam Houston State University (SHSU) recently selected Vaughn as the construction manager-at-risk for the $10 million Lowman Student Center (LSC) Renovation project. In 2016, SHSU selected Vaughn to build the LSC Addition project and now plans to move forward with Phase 2 with the same contractor. Vaughn is currently completing Phases 1 and 1B, which includes new student recreation spaces, an eight-lane bowling alley, expandable party rooms, a catering kitchen, ballroom, and five eating venues. The renovation project, set to begin in May 2019, will include a new entry to the building from the mall, lounge spaces, multiple connections to the new addition, the bookstore, a coffee shop, and a strategic renovation of selected administrative office space on the third level. With the expansion and renovation, the university aims to create a cohesive student center that will serve as a revitalized living room upon its completion in June 2020.
