Vaughn Construction recently celebrated its topping out milestone on the Phase Two Expansion project for the Hays Campus of Austin Community College (ACC). Vaughn is serving as the construction manager-at-risk for the construction of a 40-acre, first-responders training campus that will prepare students for jobs in law enforcement and emergency medical services.
This new addition to the ACC Hays Campus will feature an emergency vehicle operations track, tactical indoor firing range, police simulation training space, and specially designed classrooms for emergency management operations training.
The event was hosted by Vaughn and celebrated the project accomplishments so far with a catered BBQ lunch, prizes, and the ceremonial steel beam signing.
Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO, and several board of trustee members attended the event and received a tour of the campus by Vaughn personnel. During the event, Dr. Rhodes thanked ACC’s partners, including Vaughn and the design team, Pfluger & BSW Architects. In his closing statement, he gave special recognition to the construction crew members by asking them to stand for a round of applause for their hard work.
