The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley recently celebrated its topping out milestone on the Interdisciplinary Engineering and Academic Studies Building. Vaughn is serving as the construction manager-at-risk for the construction of this new, three-story academic building located within the heart of campus.
The building will provide flexible instructional space for several disciplines with an emphasis on engineering to accommodate a projected 48 percent increase in engineering enrollment. The first and second floors will consist of classrooms, teaching labs, and meeting rooms, while the third floor will primarily be faculty office space.
The event was hosted by Vaughn and celebrated the project accomplishments so far with a luncheon, prizes, and the signing of the beam and safety banner.
One of the recent successes of this project is the Silver Safety Through Exemplary Performance Award from the University of Texas System. The project is scheduled for completion by November 2018.
