Sam Houston State University recently broke ground on a $30 million addition project to the Lowman Student Center. Vaughn is serving as construction manager-at-risk on this two-story addition which will include dedicated student recreation space, a new eight-lane bowling alley, expandable party rooms, multiple meeting rooms, a large ballroom, a catering kitchen, and five dining venues.
At the groundbreaking event, Dana Hoyt, president of Sam Houston State University, said, “The Lowman Student Center proudly serves as the living room of Sam Houston State University where over 20,000 students, along with faculty, staff, and visitors, are able to congregate, participate and learn through developmental experiences, and enjoy a diverse atmosphere that fosters a sense of community… [this addition] is a long awaited ability to expand our living room.”
President Hoyt concluded the event by recognizing Vaughn as the construction firm and thanking everyone for attending. The project is scheduled for completion in late November 2018.
