by Vaughn Construction | Mar 27, 2019

The Baylor University, Louise Herrington School of Nursing Academic Building project won first place in the General Contractor – Education Facilities 2 ($10-30 M) Category. The judges evaluated the project’s construction difficulty, unusual construction techniques, final appearance and quality, and the timeliness of completion.

As construction manager-at-risk on the project, Vaughn converted an 112,000 SF office building into a new, modern home for the expanding nursing program at Baylor University. The facility is comprised of a variety of offices, testing spaces, common study rooms, multipurpose rooms, student lounges, conference rooms, and several teaching spaces and classrooms, including four 120-seat capacity classrooms, two 60-seat capacity classrooms, and a 250-seat auditorium. In addition to the extensive finish upgrades, we also refurbished the elevators and upgraded the MEP systems, including four new air handling units and an emergency generator.
