Research

Our experience spans a diverse range of highly complex and technical research laboratory facilities for institutional and government entities. Our work has included BSL-2, BSL-3, BSL-3E, ABSL-2, ABSL-3 and BSL-4 labs. We have significant experience installing sensitive diagnostic research and laboratory equipment such as MRIs, linear accelerators and a cyclotron. We have installed approximately 15 MRIs, 10 linear accelerators, and cyclotrons for private research, healthcare and university clients. Our in-house certified commissioning team can assist you in achieving fully commissioned laboratories in record time.

Science Building

The newly-formed University of Texas Rio Grande Valley campus embarked on three major construction projects to develop a world-class healthcare, research, and engineering program. The university hired Vaughn to build a cutting-edge research facility, the second of three buildings which Vaughn Construction was hired to build for the new campus.

Designed to attract top scientists and researchers to the Rio Grande Valley, the new four-story science building supports various STEM disciplines, including biology, physics, chemistry, math, pre-med and environmental studies. It includes flexible, technology-driven instructional space, research laboratories and collaboration spaces that are adaptable to new and future learning realities, methodologies, pedagogies, and are designed to serve students at two campuses. The first floor consolidates the major research instrumentation on campus into a teaching core. The building’s technology supports distance learning to extend services to its sister campus in Brownsville.
