Before the new Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital held its grand opening, its adjacent medical office building had reached 100% capacity. The Owner needed to build a second medical office building so they could continue recruiting staff to support the new hospital.
As construction of the hospital and the first medical office building was wrapping up, Houston Methodist hired Vaughn for the construction of the second 160,000 SF, six-story medical office building. The project included core and shell space, with elevator lobbies, restrooms, stairwells, and mechanical rooms. The building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and telecommunications infrastructure was strategically installed with Houston Methodist’s expansion in mind, ensuring ease of transition for future build-outs.
The building skin is a combination of curtainwall, cast stone, and brick, along with a metal panel clad entrance canopy. On the third floor, the building connects via a sky bridge to the adjacent parking garage, also built by Vaughn. The entire project took place while the Houston Methodist Woodlands Hospital was online and operating.
